Adidas ACE 17+ Purecontrol "Confed Cup Pack" 2017 Boots

Running riot in Russia. Marking a summer of football with three stripes in red and white, adidas drop a disruptive and limited edition boot pack for the 2017 Confederations Cup in time for the tournament kicking off  last weekend.

Leaving the laces in the airport lounge adidas land in Russia with a two-jab combo of cool as the ACE 17+ Purecontrol and X 17+ Purespeed are dressed in Confederations Cup suits. Taking on a red and white colour scheme with frantic graphics the adidas ACE 17+ Purecontrol drops in as the most experimental design yet on the new-generation laceless boot and will be released in restricted numbers under the adidas 'Limited Collection' series.

Although adidas are launching the limited edition collection to celebrate the Confederations Cup, it's expected that all contracted ACE 17+ Purecontrol players will remain in the current 'Dust Storm' colourway when the competition kicks off on Saturday as the hosts play New Zealand. The 2017 Confederations Cup is contested by the six continental champions plus Russia; that's Mexico, Germany, Portugal, New Zealand, Cameroon and Chile who will battle it out a year before the 2018 FIFA World Cup kick off.

The vibrant red aesthetic that submerges much of the Purecontrol laceless upper is taken from the design of the official adidas match ball for the Confederations Cup and is inspired by the Russian Ruby. For a tournament that's relatively low key, this boot pack could be labelled as one as the most underrated when we look back at 2017.

Closer look | Next-gen Laceless Adidas Nemeziz Messi 17+ 360Agility Dust Storm Boots

Part of the Dust Storm collection, predominantly black, the first-ever Adidas Nemeziz Messi 17+ 360Agility football boots feature the trademark all-over stripe pattern of the Nemeziz 17 in a much more reserved way than most other paint jobs.

The stands out about the Nemeziz Messi 360Agility 2017 soccer boots are the bright yellow 'Messi' writings that run all over the upper, as well as the lateral 3 Stripes, which are white. Last but not least, '360 Agility Bandage' is written on the instep of the black Adidas Nemeziz Messi 17+ 360Agility cleats, highlighting the standout feature of the model.

Unlike its sort-of predecessor, the Adidas Messi 16+ PureAgility, the Nemeziz 17+ 360Agility features an upper that is completely laceless. Technically identical to the more neutrally branded Nemeziz 17+ 360Agility, i.e. the version without the Messi brandings, its upper structure and construction is inspired by medical bandages and aims to offer supreme lockdown by tucking tightly to the foot and ankle.

Of course, Adidas NSG (Non-Stop Grip) is also present on the Nemeziz Messi 17+ 360Agility, while the sole plate is aimed at players who make quick directional changes, featuring mostly triangular studs.
